Born in 1957 in northern Hungary, guitarist/composer Ferenc Snétberger was the youngest son of a family of musicians. Early on his father, a guitar player also, became his role model. Snétberger studied classical music and jazz guitar. Today he is best known for his art of improvising and his crossing of stylistic borders. His music is inspired by the Roma tradition of his home country, Brazilian music and flamenco as well as classical guitar playing and jazz. He made numerous albums as a leader, co-leader and sideman and has toured all over Europe as well as Japan, Korea, India and the United States.

It has been more than one year since the Snétberger Music Talent Center opened its gates in Hungary/ Felsöörs near Balaton Lake.
OUR MISSION is to create a strong model school, recognised on both local and international levels, in which we help disadvantaged, young Roma musical talents commence their musical careers via world class tuition and mentoring.

A long-cherished dream of mine has become reality. I would like to thank everyone who supported us in achieving this. Our first academic year has ended and my conviction, that we are on the right track, is stronger than ever. I experienced amazing moments here at Felsőörs, not only in the area of music, but also amazing human moments. Our students support and respect each other. They explore different musical styles, simultaneously developing their own expertise while also motivating their peers. Hence my greatest thanks goes to our students, because they showed us that our work has meaning. I see the same determination in them that once drove me, through all obstacles, in the pursuit of finding my own path on the stages of the world. However, to continue our multifaceted task, we require your support.
Indeed,„music uplifts”, in the noblest sense of the word, and that not only applies to the students, but to all of us as well.
Loving greetings:
Ferenc Snétberger
